Our non-profit foundation holds a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Embassy in South Africa. We provide virtual advising and manage logistics with regard to a section of their EducationUSA program.

 

EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 425 international student advising centers in 178 countries. The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. EducationUSA also provides services to the U.S. higher education community to help institutional leaders meet their recruitment and campus internationalization goals. EducationUSA in South Africa runs and funds a program called Opportunity Funds. EducationUSA OF’s mission is to assist highly-talented and determined, economically-disadvantaged students to negotiate and finance the admissions process for colleges and universities in the United States. The aim is to produce highly-skilled and widely-educated leaders to build tomorrow’s, South Africa.

EducationUSA OF works closely with students through regularly scheduled meetings and webinars to assist them throughout the application process to secure admission and scholarships for colleges and universities in the United States. Opportunity Funds finance all costs of the application process, including registration fees for required standardized examinations, and are participants of the EducationUSA Scholar Program.  Opportunity Funds expects a sincere commitment of students to give back their energy and time to the program and to their communities and to be the best they can be.
